Working with Canis has been the best decision I made for me and my pup, Buddy. I got him as a rescue, a little under 1 year old. He was (and still is) the friendliest little guy, but really struggled with basic obedience and confidence. I chose Canis after an intro call with Brent. It was really important to me that whoever I chose to train Buddy had a deep understanding of dog psychology, but also a deep love and appreciation for the animal. The four week board and train was the easiest and best decision I made for Buddy. He learned so much during that time, including off leash work! But also, Brent made it clear that working with me as an owner was just as important to maintain and grow. It has been two years since his board and train, and Buddy and I continue to go to alumni classes as often as we can. Buddy has truly blossomed into a well-rounded dog. He has learned everything from basic relaxation skills to more advanced trick work. The whole Canis team fell in love with Buddy as much as I love him, and that has really showed me how much they care about the animals they work with. I cannot recommend them enough, and we will continue to work with Canis for practice and touch ups as long as we can.

I’m very grateful to be able to take my dog Roxy to CANIS, knowing she is always well cared for and having fun. The owner even took time out of his day to give me some training basics one time which has helped a lot. When the previous owners closed, I tried 4 other daycare’s before CANIS opened, but Roxy seemed so miserable at all four of them and the staff were not very nice or caring. This is definitely one of the best daycare/boarding/training places in the area, and you can relax knowing your pup is enjoying themselves in a safe environment!

What a great experience! CANIS is The best!! Our dog was very friendly & loving - but didn’t listen. At. All. He’s a different dog after the 4-week Board & Train experience. And true to their word - we have lifetime free personal & group lessons after the Board & Train stint. That feature is largely what sold us. That’s not a thing at other places - and they want our dog & our family to succeed! The owners and staff are wonderful - incredibly kind, understanding, patient AND experienced! We 1000% recommend CANIS for anyone looking for help with their dog - whether it’s serious training or fine-tuning.

After his Board & Train, Cooper is a much more confident dog. Thanks to private lessons and alumni classes included as part of the program, I am also becoming a much more confident handler. Nothing beats CANIS! My partner and I rescued a GSP / Mastiff / Pit puppy who needed a ton of work. From numerous trusted, recommendations, we decided to enroll her into CANIS's 4 week training program. Safe to say, its the best decision we have ever made. Not only are all the trainers so kind, caring & polite, they don't BS you and truly want what is best for you and your dog. The way they structure their facility and program, caters exactly to our needs. From training to boarding to grooming, they do it all. Every trainer is very hands on not only for the 4 weeks, but for the rest of your dogs life. We still train our dog with the CANIS trainers and will continue to do so! PS. Carter rocks!

Brent and the Canis team have been super helpful for my high-energy and reactive German Shepherd mix, Gigi. I can’t say enough great things about Canis and especially the staff. Everyone is so nice and their trainers transformed my pup who hated everyone but me into an an obedient little love bug who jumps into everyone’s laps. If your dog misbehaves or yours can’t take it anymore please consider CANIS dog training.
They turned a dog that was non-stop action, never responded to any command, used the house as a public bathroom into a well behaved, obedient dog.
And I’m not even taking about a lifetime private lessons, should we will need any advise or correction in the future. Christiana was the one
who worked with Mimi (my dog) one on one.
